Continuous Improvement Manager - Hershey Plant Job Details

This position will be located at the Hershey Plant and report to the Manufacturing Manager.

This role is responsible for:

…leading the implementation of the Hershey’s Continuous Improvement System (HCIS) and processes to drive significant improvement in safety, quality, customer service and cost at the Hershey Plant.

…assuring alignment of CI processes with plant and company goals.

...together with the plant leadership team, develop an audit process to ensure proper accountabilities for results.

...providing leadership, coaching and training across all shifts to create an environment that engages the total workforce.

• Provides direction and support to the formulation, evaluation, strategy setting and presentation of product and process solution alternatives. Brainstorms, designs, and promotes implementation improvements to processes or equipment to improve safety, quality, customer service and cost.

• Provides leadership and supervision to operations, CI sprint teams and business units during the implementation of the HCIS.  Responsible for business information communication and team formation. Identifies and develops CI tools.  Coaches, directs and trains salary and hourly personnel to utilize available tools. Coordinates internal and external resources for opportunity evaluation and implementation of CI processes. Develops and delivers training to support and enhance employee engagement in the CI process.  

• Demonstrates and develops operational experience to understand and provide robust process solutions.  Understands and can develop a ZBA.

• Develops facility specific projects through completion and serves as project leader during development and approval. 

• Provides leadership on audit process to ensure accountability and growth.

Education:

B.S. in Engineering, Science, Management, Food Technology or equivalent education and/or experience.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years experience in manufacturing (preferably in food processing engineering).            

• Knowledge of Hershey's policies, procedures, and GMP's.
• Proven manufacturing knowledge expertise.
• Excellent problem solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven leadership abilities, including demonstration of Hershey Core Values.
• Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
• Ability to coach, train and provide feedback to all levels of the plant organization.
• Ability to understand financial data and analysis to estimate values, including the development of the ZBA.
