The incumbent will also perform general Windows system administration, application installations and upgrades and perform systems programmer activities where required. These activities require broad experience in general systems architecture. In addition, the incumbent must be knowledgeable of; project management principles, and “Best Practices” concepts.
The primary challenge of the position is the efficient management of the Company’s SharePoint infrastructure to maximize service availability to end users while minimizing costs. In this position, the incumbent is expected to be knowledgeable of the service objectives; be qualified to present business solutions when appropriate; participate in the fact gathering, analysis and cost justification process; and assist in the preparation of cost/benefit proposals for future information services when required.
Coordination is also required with division level information technology organizations. This includes desktop support, operations and networking individuals and division IT directors. · 3-5 years of SharePoint administration experience with an in depth understanding of enterprise-scale MOSS 2007 technology and other Microsoft technologies including Windows 2008 server, Active Directory, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting services, and IIS administration. Familiar with MOSS forms-based authentication functionality and configuration for extranet access to the platform.
· Experience designing, implementing and managing Microsoft clustering architecture.
· Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, specifically VMware products, fiber channel SAN and iSCSI NAS storage environments.
· Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Conversent in the continual improvement process for service delivery and availability management, and “Best Practices” productivity tools. · A working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, firewalls, routers, switches
