Job Description: 

Position:  Logistics & Customs Specialist

Summary: This position is responsible for daily Customs entry audits and reconciliation. The Specialist will communicate extensively with our company's supply chain partners, origin offices and customs brokers to insure that our company's documented procedures are followed. Process variations must be addressed immediately to insure that our company is conducting business within the regulatory guidelines. The Specialist will manage the filing/retention system inclusive of entering key information into the Logistics Database and Rockport system. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
 
Performs a post entry audit on all Customs entries as documentation is received from the Customs broker (UPS and Carmichael) As well as audits all commercial documents for accuracy and issues vendor charge backs as needed.
 
Ensures that all items reported to US Customs on the entry summary reflect the information found within Arigo and the Logistics Database (HTS Classification, Duty, Value, CAFTA, PTPA, ATDPEA, QIZ qualification, quota categories, MPF, & HMF); Enters the 7501 information such as duty amounts and entry numbers into the Logistics Database
 
Collects and audits all certificates of origins and affidavits for special trade programs; Ensures that all Special Trade Programs certificates and affidavits are correct, complete, and in compliance with the specific program (CAFTA, PTPA, ATDPEA, & QIZ).
 
Performs all a post entry audit on documents of Mexico shipments and advises of any discrepancies for corrections. As well as complete a daily and quarter Mexico Reconciliation file spreadsheet log.
 
Creates Broker Error Log and enters this information into the Logistics Database resolves all discrepancies under 10 days old. This information will be used by the Customs Compliance Manager to track for Broker Error Log Quarterly phone calls
 
Maintains the MID Code List for Brokers (UPS & Carmichael); Updates list when a new MID Code is added and sends out to all Brokers along with Customs Compliance Manager; Resolves any issues that arise with incorrect MID Codes listed by contacting the Brokers or Origin offices
 
Maintains all current files for Trademark License Agreements; Notifies Licensing Department Manager when updated documents are needed and if they have not been received
 
Audits and enters all Customs 4333A forms into the Logistics Database on a weekly basis; Ensures that all shipments have liquidated after 314-day period; Notifies Customs Compliance Manager of any discrepancies found
 
Maintains Retention Log updating all files destroyed 5 years or older; Ensures that all import documents are properly maintained and accessible for 5 years from date of entry; Ensures document destruction of entry documentation on Quarterly basis
 
Manages Campus Ship International and Domestic Shipping systems; Sets up all new users; Controls shipping privileges, provides training, and resolves problems or International or Domestic shipping issues as they arise; Order shipping supplies as needed
 
Assist Customs Compliance Manager with the implementation of a self-testing plan for Importer Self Assessment (ISA)-self-testing plan to be completed yearly
 
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
Assist Manager of Customs Compliance and Accounting in gathering all information needed to complete the reconciliation of entries submitted to U.S. Customs each year
 
Performs daily processing of all Photo/Proto Mutilated, and China Caps Special documentation
 
Assist Manager of Customs Compliance in the yearly review of the Compliance Manual
 
Assist Customs Compliance Manager with the implementation of a self-testing plan for Importer Self Assessment (ISA)-self-testing plan to be completed yearly
 
Assists Customs Compliance Manager with Over/Short carton discrepancies found by Receiving and enters them into the Logistics Database as well as assist Manager of Customs Compliance on the completion of the Quarterly Post Entry Adjustment.
