Position Description:


 

 

Adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.

Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic II and III.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 


  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned APS-3 Ship and ensure compliance of mission requirements In Accordance With TM 38-470 and SOW.

  • Supervise operations on ship to support upload and download.

  • Establish and maintain historical operational records and exhibit organizational skills required to monitor the administrative tasks associated with Shipboard operations.

  • Provide the Ship Mechanic(s) with technical assistance in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment assigned.

  • Utilize knowledge and skills on the Army Supply System and the Maintenance Management System to sustain equipment readiness. 

  • Investigate, and document any damage to Shipboard equipment during upload and download.

  • Verify validity, accuracy, and shipment of requisitions for Non-Mission Capable equipment repair parts, hazardous materials, and GFE to his assigned APS-3 ship.

  • Supervise and ensure Certification and Approval by Government Staff of Shipboard consumable containers for upload aboard APS-3 ship.

  • Ensure safe and timely upload / download of equipment using forklifts, conveyances, hand trucks or other maintenance equipment to complete work assignments. 

  • Distribute information and updates as required concerning the ship equipment and personnel action request of each ShipBoard employees. 

  • Ensure safe operations and timely mechanical repair and inspections of equipment.

  • Ensure safe compliance and timely completion of Bi-Annual VERP on APS-3 Ship.

  • Ensure required completion of training of employees.

  • Review Weekly Activity Reports (WAR) for accuracy and timely submission.

  • Ensure that current Electronic Technical Manuals are on hand or have been requisitioned by Honeywell Shipboard at ASLAC.

  • Review repair parts Reconciliation Reports for accuracy.

  • Review SOUMS, GPM and MAM for required action and ensure compliance.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned from ASLAC Honeywell Shipboard Manager.


 

 
 



  • Qualifications: Bachelors and minimum of five years experience in related or military mechanical field or, in lieu of formal education, thirteen years of experience
