Position Summary:



Responsible for execution of Sara Lee Fresh Bakery category/brand strategies at the Customer level to deliver AOP/LRP. Responsible for understanding the Customer's key objectives and strategies and implementing collaborative business plans that deliver long-term mutual growth. Manage the interface at the Customer, resulting in achievement of volume and profit targets. Customize, sell and implement corporate strategies and Category Leadership Programs (CLP) with the Customer from executive suite to the store. Manage the interface at the Customer, resulting in achievement of volume and profit targets. Primary Customer point of contact with all levels of the Customer (VP to Category Manager).



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Penetrate Customer at multiple levels and establish business relationships that enable strategic collaborative business planning initiatives, where appropriate. Key Sara Lee Fresh Bakery interface with the Customer at Senior levels

  • Penetrate and establish relationships across multiple touch points of Customer's value chain (Marketing, Category Management, Manufacturing, and DSD Operations). Own development, review and maintenance of the Sara Lee Fresh Bakery Customer Profile. Provide qualitative Customer information that is utilized for Customer Segmentation & AOP planning process

  • Primary point of contact for SLFB Customer Marketing relative to their business

  • Own and lead development of strategic and tactical business planning activities with Customer, ensuring achievement of AOP/LRP

  • Develop and execute Customer strategies, tactics, and key initiatives that deliver Sara Lee Fresh Bakery AOP/LRP.

  • Identify requests and manage resource requirements needed to deliver Customer strategies.

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (Category Management, Retail Operations, DSD Operations, Customer Marketing, and Marketing) by providing consistent direction and support, skills development through coaching and training, and motivation of the Team to achieve maximum productivity

  • Develop and execute the most efficient and effective trade spending plan with guidelines established by the AOP/LRP including initial scenario planning, plan input and ongoing maintenance of the TPM tool

  • Responsible for post-promotion analysis

  • Management of more complex Customer business in terms of number of portfolios, number of SKUs, call points, management of private label and/or other complexities


  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years relevant CPG experience to include some combination of:

  • Minimum 5 years Customer Management

  • Customer/Trade Marketing, Category Management preferred

  • DSD experience preferred
