Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years experience in mechanical product development and engineering with an emphasis on complex mechatronic and precision electromechanical devices.
• Experience with precision drive mechanisms, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, sensor technologies, electronics packaging, and molding part design is highly desirable.
• Ability to apply engineering principals and theory to develop safe, innovative and robust medical products.
• Knowledge of thermal, structural analysis and design a plus. Knowledge and experience with FEA tools to perform engineering analysis in the early design phase of projects
• Proficiency with leading MCAD software is a must.
• Understanding of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and drawing standards
• Experience with performing tolerance analysis on complex assemblies
• Working knowledge of product safety requirements from regulatory agencies such as UL, IEC, ISO, and the FDA
• Ability to effectively plan, oversee, implement and deliver a product within schedule and budget

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as technical lead on medical device projects.
• Create and develop precision electro-mechanical mechanisms components and assemblies to meet product design specifications and regulatory requirements
• Perform engineering analysis and establish test plans to demonstrate product designs meet performance and safety requirements
• Work with cross functional team members and outside partners to deliver new products to market within the defined project schedule and budget
• Supervise other engineering and technical personnel
• Carry out assembly and troubleshooting activities
• Create and manage development tasks for assigned project(s), including project Schedule, BOM’s and product costs targets
• Identify project risks and potential product design issues; recommend design solutions
• Determine appropriate processes and materials for prototype and production parts
• Work with vendors to fabricate prototype and production parts and tooling
• Write protocols and reports to support product testing
• Comply with internal corporate Design Control Process for assigned project(s)
• Complete engineering documentation required to support assigned project(s)
