Job Description

This is a mid / senior-level C++/Java developer position.  The Software Engineer will work as part of an agile team of developers to develop and ensure support for software components of an enterprise-scale hospital information system. The individual must be a team-player and willing to function as a support person and developer, as required on a daily basis to meet the goals of the team.



Job Functions:

Maintain and further develop a core part of the Global Acute Clinicals software product “Soarian”.  This entails analyzing, designing, coding, testing and documenting new feature enhancements, but also providing development product support.  Development will be done in an agile work environment, following agile best practices.



Job Requirements:

Bachelor degree in computer science or related field, Master degree preferred.  

Strong Java, C++, VB 6 and MS-SQL development skills.

Strong object oriented software development skills.

Web development skills (JSP, Servlets, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript).

Unit test / acceptance test (Fitness) experience.

Proven experience with object oriented analysis and design.

Experience with design patterns (GoF, Sun J2EE) preferred.

Configuration management (ClearCase) skills preferred.

Experience with WebSphere preferred.

Strong analytical skills and ability to adjust to changing priorities
Positive attitude and ability to learn quickly
Strong technically oriented background

Agile development experience preferred.

Healthcare domain knowledge preferred.

Strong written and verbal skills.
