The Structural Designer is expected to utilize his/her Structural Design talents & experience to oversee the Structural aspects of the development of merchandising solutions from conceptual, through production to approval to first article stages. Primary Responsibilities: - Creation of conceptual sketches to meet client objectives, model white and/or mock up prototypes.
- Organizing, planning and tracking the direction & status of projects, interactions with cross functional groups.
- Creating and managing working drawings (and revisions to those drawings) and other documentation relating to the structural and planogram information.
- Developing client objective concepts that can be presented in sketch form and have manufacturability to meet all objectives.
- Implementation of documentation drawings such as component specifications and Bill of Materials to meet best practice objectives.
- Assisting in the initial part approval process.
- Evaluating assembly facility needs from a display design aspect to ease the introduction of the new display into production.
- Ensure the delivery of all pertinent documentation to allow the timely and cost-effective creation of displays that are as true to concept as is feasible given the project, vendor and assembly facility constraints.
- Take technical leadership role in concept reviews, design reviews and prototyping and production reviews to deliver the benefit of his/her experience and knowledge in various process, material, budget and design constraints.
- Organizational and communications skill related to Design and cross functional teams.
- Knowledge of Retail acceptance and specifications to display and POP presence.
- Knowledge of packaging and shipping methods to assure shipping certification
Required Skills Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Package Design, or Design Engineering Required Experience Six years experience in point-of-purchase displays or related industrial experience
