Job Description: 
JOB SUMMARY: Must be able to work independently and/or with a team to provide up keep of the equipment and plant electrical components operating for production and sanitation. Must maintain and troubleshoot all building, production, and utilities equipment facility wide to prevent and/or correct electrical and minor mechanical breakdowns, while advising/assisting Sanitation workers with clean-ups, troubleshoot and correct issues that impede timely completion of sanitation tasks, while insuring that all sanitation policies are met. Maintain complete and accurate records as policies require.

 

  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 


  • Assist in maintaining CIP/ACS systems and their records.

  • Maintain pumps, foamers, pressure washers, sprayers, blowdown guns, metal wash, and other sanitation equipment as needed.

  • Perform corrective maintenance on plant/production equipment as needed for completion of sanitation clean-ups.

  • Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure readiness for start-up.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Sanitation, Operations and Maintenance on corrective actions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  •  Interact with engineering, contractors and vendors as necessary.

  • Assist in the commercialization process.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections as required per polices.

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement ideas and participate in the development of a productivity projects.

  • General knowledge of maintenance safety programs and standards.

  • Troubleshoot and repair all electrical/electronic equipment and control equipment associated with the building, production, sanitation and utilities.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations, Sanitation and Maintenance Team Leads any corrective maintenance required on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency.

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on all production, building, sanitation, and utilities equipment as assigned by the Sanitation or Maintenance Supervisor/Team Lead.

  • Participate in the development of a documented preventive maintenance plan.

  • Must be able to work as a member of a team on jobs requiring skills other than electrical.

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design through use of the team concept.

  • Troubleshoot and modify programs on existing programmable controllers and write new programs for existing and new programmable computers.

  • Analyze equipment failures; Recommend and implement corrective action.

  • Communicate with area maintenance personnel on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.

  • Perform an emergency stop as necessary; Follow all "Lock Out/Tag Out" procedures and policies.

  • Report all safety concerns and potential hazards to a supervisor/team lead.

  • Prepare various reports and paperwork.

  • Able to take initiative and work independently to accomplish position objectives.

  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and free of unneeded materials.

  • Able to work any scheduled overtime as needed.

  • Able to follow job instructions and accept constructive criticism from supervisor.

  • Perform any duties assigned by Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Lift 50 pounds.

  • Able to climb, stoop, kneel, bend, twisting and crouch

  • Able to reach above shoulders

  • Able to become certified to operate a hand truck, fork truck, and vertilifts

  • Have understanding of Sanitary Design, chemical safety and cleaning procedures

  • Must have good mathematical , troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical, communication and leadership skills

  • Have basic computer skills

  • Able to work any shift and overtime when needed

  • Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles

  • Able to work in hot and humid conditions

  • Have organizational and interactive skills

  • Comply with required corporate policies and provide necessary follow-ups

  • Meet all required safety trainings

  • Have the capability and initiative to perform duties without direct supervision

  • Must possess appropriate tools and toolbox.

  • Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.

  • Able to travel as needed


EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

The employee must have general operation knowledge of all equipment on the line. . The employee must have the ability to operate such equipment that includes, but is not limited to shop equipment, assorted hand tools, power-tools, computer & HMI's/ touch screens, CIP and ACS systems, production equipment (processing and packaging,) Central Vacuum, hand trucks, forklifts, vertilifts, hoists, other equipment as needed.  The employee must have the ability to operate such equipment that includes, but is not limited to volt meters, amp meters, computer, conduit bender, assorted hand tools, etc.

 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates/Bachelors degree pertaining to Electrical Maintenance Field, Certified Journeyman Electrician, or 8 years of equivalent industrial experience required.  

Also, employee must be able to pass appropriate testing and Interview process prior to being offered the position.
