3rd Shift QA Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist has broad responsibility for Quality Assurance auditing, materials testing, data base maintenance and product disposition.    This position pays a $2.00 shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift in addition to your base pay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be able to conduct product analysis; utilizes applicable test procedures to analyze raw materials, in-process product and finished goods for physical and chemical properties.  This includes:
  • Jel Sert food products
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • Third Party contracted products
• Responsible for recording test results and maintaining associated documentation
• Responsible for establishing the disposition of raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods.
• Investigate consumer complaints on product quality and suggest ways to reduce the number of consumer complaints in assigned areas.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

3-5 years quality control experience in the food/beverage industry.  Experience with sample preparation and testing techniques and experience in analytical chemistry is required.  Microbiological and HACCP experience/certification is a plus. 

SKILLS REQUIRED: Good written and oral skills in Spanish and English, basic math skills, computer knowledge (excel, word, and access) and good problem solving/organizational skills.  Must be able to complete and pass a skill assessment.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Must be able to climb stairs on a regular basis.

Must be able to maneuver products with hands during testing procedures.

Must be able to walk and/or stand for a minimum of 6 hours at a time.

Must be able to move within and between warehouse, production and office facilities

Must be able to push/pull plastic carts with product weighing up to 115 lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT
