| Job Description: |
AT&T AdWorks is rapidly growing in expectation of becoming AT&T’s next billion dollar business. We are looking for both industry veterans and strong leaders who revel in the prospect of building a better approach to advertising sales that uses the inherent strengths of the world’s largest telecommunications company. AT&T AdWorks is the face to the market for AT&T’s newest ad products across IPTV, Mobile, and Online. The QA Associate Director will lead the QA team and be responsible for working with Product Engineering leads to develop test plans, processes, and schedules. Expected to help ensure smooth releases of top-quality products on predictable timelines. Responsible for a significant investment effort to build (and/or buy) and adopt best-in-class test automation tools that amplify the impact of our CI processes. Continuous testing via automation is at the core of our software development process; s/he must be both a leader and an enabler for efforts to expand the use of test automation across the division via evangelizing and education. We are looking for someone who is excited about the agile development process, believes in the goal of testing software with software, and is committed to driving quality using agile best practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise with performance testing, functional testing, unit testing, and regression testing of consumer applications, especially consumer web sites, and will be able to revise and augment our existing processes to maintain high velocity without sacrificing product quality. While s/he should be technical enough to “get her hands dirty” – by, say, sniffing network traffic and digging through stack traces to triage a SEV-1 production issue – this is a leadership/management role; strong communication and organizational skills are a must. S/he will be familiar and comfortable with scrum, XP, or TDD methodologies, as well as experience with and an appreciation of modern web application frameworks, such as Ruby on Rails or Django. It goes without saying that s/he needs to bring a firm understanding of QA’s role in the iterative software development life cycle that is at the heart of agile engineering, as well as a mastery of testing strategies/techniques for white-, black- and gray-box QA.
