The Director of User Experience and Innovation Design will lead the User Experience and Innovation design competence in the Brand design group and provide the thought leadership across the AT&T Company. She/he will lead the strategic development and creative direction of Experience and Innovation design platforms and frameworks across the enterprise. She will pioneer new processes, methods and tools that will enable us to put the customer experience at the center of our considerations, giving us the foresight to drive customer experience strategies and roadmaps. She will pioneer new methodologies for us to drive the innovation agenda; from new value identification to new value creation. She will lead the consistent delivery of high quality solutions that are in line with our customer experience principles that create a new level of engagement and provide competitive advantage in the places customers come in contact with our brand. She will set a new high bar for quality and will inspire others in the way we can use Design to create new customer experiences that create meaning, relevance and preference for our brand. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES 30% User Experience and Innovation design creation She/he will lead (by setting the strategic and creative direction) internal teams and our supporting agency partners in the creation of Experience design programs that drive the creation of innovative customer experiences. She will act as a strategic liaison between the AT&T business and the supporting creative agencies. She will work with the AT&T business's to understand their strategic business and marketing objectives and will be responsible to make sure our design solutions and programs effectively supports and enables these objectives and the marketing of their propositions. 30% User Experience and Innovation design management She/he will be responsible to direct and manage our internal team and external agencies to innovate and evolve the user experience within the various programs. She will be responsible to ensure the quality, consistency and alignment is being upheld across all initiatives by the external design firms and agencies She will be responsible to evolve the tools and create best practices in the tools we use to manage the design programs such as the AT&T Brand Center (online brand management tool) 30% Educate, train and inspire He/she will be responsible to develop and deliver programs to train (educate and inspire) the agencies and businesses on the strategic importance and relevance of user experience and innovation design (What it is and how it works) to our company. 10% Competence development She /he will work with the VP, Brand Identity and Design to build a design competence and culture within the organization. This person would be specifically challenged with building the User Experience and Innovation design competence. She would provoke and inspire the organization to create world class user experiences. This would involve attracting and sourcing the best talent (internally and externally), and the development and sharing of best practices. In addition this person would contribute to the development of a program to promote the quality and excellence of our work in the form of design and business awards. TRAINING & SPECIAL SKILLS: Communication skills This candidate should have excellent visual and verbal communication skills, using words and images to persuade and convince. They should be able to orchestrate the use of words and images to apply strategy and to create greater meaning for our brand and the propositions we are marketing. Conceptual skills This candidate should have excellent conceptual skills and have the ability to drive the development and execution of those concepts throughout the process. Presentation skills This candidate should have excellent presentation skills. Using words and images to create narrative and push the ideas and the agenda of the organization. Experience in workshop facilitation is a real plus. Operational skills The candidate should have the experience and ability to operationalize the customer experience design strategy and design programming into the mechanisms of the organization Industry tools This candidate should be fluent in the use of the Microsoft office suite as well as the relevant programs from the Adobe creative suite. REQUIREMENTS: 10 years experience in agency/design consultancy environment or internal brand management organization Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent presentation skills Education Preferred/Desired: Undergraduate degree in a Design related field such as Communication or Product design.
