We are a global leader in commercial fire systems, smoke and gas detection, personal protective equipment, and home healthcare monitoring products. We are searching for top candidates for our Product Development Engineer position located in Responsibilities include: · Design and development activities in new products, research, VE/CE and sustaining exercises · Experienced in being part of full scale development projects with cross functional teams. Can be called upon to manage smaller projects as leader. · Works with and evaluates turn-key suppliers and consultants and their capabilities to provide required products or services in the development of new products and techniques, especially in the areas of plastic processing such as injection molding. · Capable of concurrent project execution and multi-tasking. · Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. · Creates and modifies detailed 3-D models and drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes either self generated or provided by engineering, industrial design, or marketing. · Specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects · Checks model/drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards and fundamental engineering practices. · Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval. · Develops his/her specific contributions to project budgets and timelines. · Works with R&D prototype shop/lab staff in the creation of material samples and product concept models, including rapid prototype techniques such as FDM. · Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operations or quality of product.
Basic Qualifications: · Degree in Mechanical Engineering · 8 years experience in consumer product design and development environment · Minimum 1500 hrs experience with 3-D CAD Preferred Qualifications: · SolidWorks experience preferred · Injection molding/plastics industry experience · Training and/or experience in acoustics · Industrial design experience · Experienced in DFM and Stage Gate environments. · Comfortable working with external development sources such as consultant groups, turn-key material suppliers, and test laboratories. · Conversant in Marketing and Product Management methodologies. · A track record of proven results, specifically as it relates to product innovation and product-release-to-market. · Design experience in a regulatory environment · Strong analytical skills · Experienced in Quality/ISO processes and basic drafting standards · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Solid reasoning and problem solving skills · Hands-on approach to job · Fluent understanding of the Microsoft Office Platform If you are a dynamic, successful, driven professional, Honeywell is the company that will further your experience and career growth.
