Job Description:  Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Web Designer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in demonstrating the value of performance. This position is located in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities: Develops Web pages (static) and serves as a resource for staff throughout the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) involved in on-site Web site development. Evaluates the content of various Web sites to ensure that the information is accurate, consistent, and current. Perform technical reviews of materials to be posted (including quality assurance, NCCDPHP standards, and 508 compliance) and serve as a technical resource for team members on HTML and page development issues as well as serve as a technical resource for staff throughout the Center involved in Web site development. Runs monthly usage reports for each program, maintaining technical standards on the Intranet, researching and recommending tools (e.g., for Intranet: search engine, content management system, personalization engine, etc.) and methodologies associated with Web development. Researches and recommends coding strategies and improved processes for site development. Serve as a liaison for the Office of Informatics and Information Resources Management (OIIRM) across CDC Web development teams. Attends Internet Workgroup meetings. Participates in CDC-wide product and template rollouts. Participates in special web development projects as needed.
Qualifications:

Required Skills:

5 Years with Bachelors in Science or equivalent ; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.


· Strong HTML and technical (non-dynamic) Web site development experience. Understanding of information architecture and Web site usability concepts. Capacity to quickly learn emerging Web technologies.
· Experience coordinating large HTML Web development efforts involving many stakeholders.
· Excellent communications skills (written and oral) with the ability to interface with the client, subject matter experts, and technical Web development and applications staff.
· Strong organizational, project planning, and prioritizing/time management skills.

Additional Desired Skills/Pluses:
· Experience with Section 508 accessibility requirements for web pages and PDFs.
· Familiarity with CDC web template.
· Omniture experience.
· Familiarity with public health issues and terminology.
