This Principal Product Realization Manager will manage a suite of projects in AT&T’s mHealth portfolio. AT&T has been recognized as a leader in this space by industry experts. This PPRM will manage his/her own new product development project(s) as well as supervise a small team of product realization managers and architects to deliver a suite of mHealth related solutions. He/she will lead a cross functional team through product development process from conception to launch and provide on-going support throughout the product lifecycle.
Below are some examples of activities performed as part of the Product Realization process that the PPDE is responsible for driving:
- Manage cross-functional teams through functional requirements gathering and validation to launch or lifecycle a service
- Communicate product requirements to IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Sales communities, etc
- Lead a team of internal and external partners in the execution of tasks
- Leads vendor selection process (incl. RFI, RFP, RFQ)
- Manage the vendor to deliver on time and with the quality required
- Manage the budget associated with these projects
- Manage the releases through internal processes as necessary
- Anticipate problems and complications, and formulate solutions so as not to impede the progress of the project
- Identify and escalate show stopping issues to supervisor
- Communicate project status to various interested parties within the business
- Develop, maintain, and distribute as appropriate standard project management deliverables for the successful launch of new consumer data applications and devices, including: implementation plan, project schedule, issues & action items log, meeting minutes, risks assessment and contingencies
- Manage a team of junior level Product Realization Managers and Technical Architects
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand and define functional requirements for wireless services
- Proven large scale product development skills - including product requirements gathering and definition, project planning, project management, financial acumen, test design and execution, long term tactical roadmap and release management and planning
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing cross functional efforts and teams (including financial, care, marketing, and engineering functions at a minimum)
- Must possess a high degree of influence and impact team performance of peers, subordinate managers, senior managers, and executive management, including the ability to change the thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
- Track record of driving delivery of products on time and on budget
- Previous experience in managing vendors
- Demonstrated fluency with MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Visio
- Must have proven success in developing and delivering executive presentations, including experience with MS Powerpoint
- Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills and detail oriented
Qualifications
- 8 years of demonstrated experience in Wireless Product Development/Product Management with project management and organizational skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree required in a related discipline, MBA a plus
- PMP Certification or CPM credentials desired
Strong knowledge of a broad range of emerging/new technologies. Expert level knowledge in a focused area of specific technology including one or more of the following: 3G, LTE, mobile application development, VOIP, IMS, IP Messaging, mobile media, mobile platforms/OS, IPV6, Broadband Video. Tracks and monitors trends and developments in specific technologies. Serves as SME (subject matter expert) for specific technologies. Performs network product engineering assignments, including design, development, and/or testing of network hardware, firmware, or software products or systems. Assignments may include development of new products, enhancements, and modifications of existing products. Develops and executes product testing and integration plans for new or updated products. Seen as SME. Typically reports to Second or Third Level Management.
