The Electronic Engineering Technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. He/she must possess the technical knowledge of electronic principles, and the ability to use schematics in such areas as drafting, designing, equipment construction, and troubleshooting. He/she will have the understanding of airborne telemetry systems including wiring, installation of payload components, performance of initial payload checks, and ground station pre-launch testing and launch support. He/she will have the operational knowledge of a wide variety of electronic test equipment to support component/payload testing and checkout of prototype electronic instrumentation and will provide semiprofessional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. May train and be assisted by lower level technicians. Applicant will be subjected to security investigation and must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
AA in Electronic Technology or equivalent military/trade school training and a minimum of 7 years of general experience, 5 of which have been as an electronic technician or a total of 9 years of general electronic experience. Must possess or will be required to obtain Certification/Licensing for Cable Crimp Harness (NASA-STD-8739.4); Confined Space Entry; Conformal Coating and Staking (NASA-STD-8739.1); Crane Operations; Electrostatic Discharge (NASA-STD-8739.7); Forklift Operation; Mate/Demate;; Safety; and Soldering (NASA-STD-8730.3).
