Job Description: 


Responsible for developing network designs for wireless, wireline and broadband infrastructure. Applies the necessary tools and engineering principles to create and design the network infrastructure in accordance with approved guidelines. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Responsibilities may also include working with Labs, product development, and engineering teams to actually author process documentation, methods, procedures, and guidelines for current network planning, capacity management, and network builds. Coordinates and interfaces with internal and external customers to ensure service commitments are met. Uses engineering tools, various software applications, and databases to assist in creating the engineering documents. Prepares / oversees cost/benefit estimates, presentations, negotiations, installation, problem resolution, and multivendor product integration. May provide initial implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and provides resolution for system failures or degradations. Provide project management and documentation as required.

KNOWLEDGE Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area. Applies specialized knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and work processes. Integrates company experience and deep technical knowledge. Advanced understanding of select ATT technologies/systems/procedures.



ANALYSIS/PROBLEM SOLVING Solves non-routine problems based on analysis of multiple factors. Independently identifies key issues, patterns or deviations from norm. Works on problems requiring judgment and in depth evaluation of multiple factors. Analyzes/interprets research to evaluate and recommend solutions.



INDEPENDENCE Guided by team goals and operational objectives. Applies judgment to determine appropriate processes and technical area standard; provides technical direction to others in own work area.



CONTRIBUTION TO ATT TECHNOLOGY Key contributor on diverse projects of moderate scope. Recommends new procedures/processes to drive desired results.



COMMUNICATION Mentors less experienced team members in work area explaining advanced technical information and providing specialized technical guidance. Builds productive internal/external relationships. Collaborates with others in own team or across teams.



Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to ATT compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

Required Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of successful network engineering or related experience.
  • Proficient in Electrical engineering principles (Electronic component design, etc.)
  • Expert level understanding in Inventory control (Inventory management and forecasting, etc.)
  • Proficient in Network system/equipment/architecture design (Systems architecture (2G and 3G), fault-tolerance, redundancy and reliability, etc.)
  • Expert level understanding in Power engineering principles (Electric power transmission (AC/DC), etc.)
  • Expert level understanding in Vendor capability assessment

Desired Qualifications


  • AS or BS degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent related network experience
  • CCNA Certification
