The Motor Vehicle Mechanic CDL repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES ROTATION TO DIFFERENT SECTIONS WITHIN THE MAINTENANCE DIVISION, WHICH MAY IMPACT SHIFT AND OR WORKDAYS. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: -Must have Class A CDL or able to obtain one within 60 days of employment. -Must have High School Diploma or GED. -Must have 3 years previous experience as a mechanic. -Must have or be able to obtain Public Trust. -Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the US -Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. -Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted. -Position requires a high level of motivation, energy, and a customer-focused attitude. Preferred Qualifications: -Three years experience performing maintenance on construction Military or Civilian heavy equipment. -ASE Certification.
