AT&T Field Technical Specialist - Baltimore, MD Job Details

Overall Purpose: This position will consist of installation and maintenance of a variety of ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber line), Broadband, Wireless; wiring and hardware and software products in the incumbents assigned geographical area. In addition this position will work with crossfunctional groups to meet customer and operational commitments.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: This may include working with provisioning and testing centers, conducting a number of tests to ensure physical integrity and connectivity, providing assistance to peers and completing service installation orders as assigned. In addition to the above responsibilities this incumbent will track all activities for recording purposes and providing onsite implementation support for engineers when requested.

Job Contribution: Technical professional with limited experience. Primarily completes standard work. Small but direct impact on team.

KNOWLEDGE - Has basic working knowledge of technical principles/methods within own discipline/specialty area. Integrates basic principles of discipline with processes/procedures to complete own job. Grows current knowledge of ATT technologies/systems/procedures.

ANALYSIS/PROBLEM SOLVING - Solves non- routine problems applying limited judgment within appropriate standard procedures. Articulates/refines identified issues within own area. Analyzes a variety of factors within applicable standards/procedures to develop solutions. Reviews structured technical problems; independently selects appropriate methods.

INDEPENDENCE - Follows established policies/procedures; plans work priorities with guidance. Assignment scope is limited. Limited discretion applied in establishing deadlines/approaches for completing own assignments.

COMMUNICATION Effectively exchanges routine technical information. Actively engages with others to understand issues and gather necessary information. Presents materials/thoughts effectively one on one.

Education: Typically a high school diploma, GED or equivalent related network experience; additional technical training desired.

Experience: Typically 1-3 years of technical installation and maintenance experience.

Supervisory: No.

Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to ATT compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
