Job Description: 

In this Senior Marketing Database Manager role you will be a part of the Consumer Marketing Strategic Analytics team, which provides reporting and analytics support to a wide variety of internal departments, including Campaign Management, Consumer Marketing, and the Churn Task Force team. The majority of the data used to support these initiatives resides in the AT&T customer data warehouse (eCDW).


Detailed responsibilities include:


  • Provide periodic "standardized" reporting servicing multiple and diverse internal client groups, including campaign management, network finance, legal, field marketing, sales, advertising teams, public relations and external affairs
  • Efficiently and effectively manage multiple, interrelated and complex data information sources
  • Streamline and manage all elements of data analysis and reporting for multiple diverse clients assuring timeliness, accuracy and consistency
  • Support routine and ad hoc information needs from multiple internal clients
  • Collaborate and efficiently manage associated efforts of non-direct resources within and outside of AT&T
  • Consult with decision makers and senior management regarding strategic research, planning and analysis, providing insight, knowledge and understanding of business, products and industry
  • Work on long-term assignments
  • Utilize your decision making and priority setting skills regularly

This position can be located in Atlanta, GA or Redmond, WA. May consider applicants who reside (and will remain) in locations other than those listed.

Required Qualifications:


  • Five years experience in a data mining role
  • Five years experience using SAS and SQL
  • Five years experience working with large and complex relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Expert level knowledge in the theory and application of computer based analytical tools
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, research and quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong written, verbal and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other standard office computer applications

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience with AT&T customer data warehouses (BID/eCDW, EDW, etc.)
  • Six or more years experience in a data mining role
  • Power user of SAS (SAS/STAT, Macros, Enterprise Miner)
  • Experience with statistical testing (tests for confidence intervals/significant differences, required sample size, etc.)
  • Experience with Teradata
  • Experience with Unix
  • Wireless Telecom experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a Quantities Business Analysis, Statistics or analogous degree
