Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Virtualization Center of Excellence Crew Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever AFB, CO. The qualified VCE Crew Lead must be an experienced, virtualization professional capable of taking the virtual environment into the future; i.e., cloud. This is in support of the Missile Defense Agency on the JRDC program.
Roles and Responsibilities: • Perform all crew daily and weekly battle rhythm activities, on-going analysis of service performance, forward-thinking capacity management reviews and reporting, on-going O&M activities for the virtual environments, supporting projects, attending various meetings (crew, staff, change, configuration, etc.) and other activities as needed • Required to coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure • Primary duty hours fall between 0700 (eastern) and 1700 (mountain) with shift and on-call work as required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field and 25 years of experience. Years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree • Must have VCP (VMware Certified Professional), or (VCAP or VCDX) • Must have at least 5 years in a supervisory role • Must have strong relevant skills in a large virtualized environment • Must have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills • Per DoD 8570, candidate must be Security certified or have the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire • Candidate must have experience with VMware storage, capacity management and sustainment efforts • Candidate must understand what it takes to implement resource pooling, elasticity, metered use and on-demand self service • Previous experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) capability • Previous experience with change, implementation and sustainment engineering • Previous experience with capacity management. Previous experience supporting Windows Server 2003/2008, UNIX/LINUX, EMC storage, Symantec Netbackup, and SCCM patch management solutions • Previous experience incorporating data inputs from various sources (e.g., vCenter, ECC/Ionix) and turning the data into meaningful reports • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: • Masters degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field and 20 years of experience • Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret Clearance
