Synopsis: **** The candidate must be a US citizen and either possess or be eligible for a DoD SECRET clearance. This work is on site at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA.
The Network Administrator will administer, maintain, troubleshoot and support an organization's SIPRNet network and their computer systems. They are responsible for installing, administering, maintaining, and upgrading all intranet connected systems and devices to include, but not limited to: workstations, printers, servers, SAN and NAS devices, VTC equipment, VOIP equipment, switches, routers and encryption devices. This position also provides support for Information Security (INFOSEC) and trusted systems technology. They work in a variety of IT job environments including organization offices, government organizations, and large unit offices. They help to maintain systems hardware and software on a basic level, analyze problems, and monitor networks to ensure their availability to system users. They also help perform network back-ups and measure network performance and normally work under a Team Lead who provides direct supervision.
Work Content
Provide initial contact with customer to resolve trouble tickets. Configure, test, implement, and optimize portions of local area network (LAN) and base area network (BAN), networks that enable and support business operations. Assist in the evaluation, testing, and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer-defined strategy. Design and implement strategies to migrate end-user devices and data. Support for Information Security (INFOSEC) and trusted systems technology. Assists in the analysis and definition of security requirements Systems administration of workstations and servers• Support design, development, and implementation of operational support standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management, and security. Integrate third party vendor applications into the infrastructure and develop scripts for customization. Maintain and implement physical, operational, and information security practices and procedures. Check computer workstations for system and security vulnerabilities and use provided policies and procedures to eliminate them.Implement Government-provided tools and documentation for operational teams to manage the platform.Investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to performance problems to optmize functionality, reliability, and/or usability. Analyze network structure to evaluate stability of connections. Analyze system service irregularities and disruptions and identify improvement/recommendations. Act as a liaison between the groups, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve network outages.
Required Skills and Certifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Security Certification & Microsoft Windows XP Certified Professional, ITIL Foundation V3 certification
Required Clearance: This position requires at a minimum ”Interim Secret Clearance” prior to the start of work.
