An excellent career opportunity is currently available for Product Development Specialist within the UOP Manufacturing and Product Technology group located in Baton Rouge, La. This entry level position affords a unique opportunity to develop, scale up and commercialize catalyst and adsorbent products for the chemical and refining industries.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Plan and conduct research work with minimal supervision
  • Exercise judgment to solve process and product problems.
  • Contribute to one or more formally chartered Product Development project teams.
  • Accountability for HSE for all operations under his/her direction.
  • Contribute project ideas in existing markets to reduce cost, improve quality, and achieve growth.
  • Develop and improve experimental procedures and .
  • Support manufacturing trials.
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing plant.
  • Monitor patents, literature and the industry for process, materials and manufacturing technology changes as either opportunities or threats.
  • Continuous improvement to maximize the return on resources (people, processes and assets) using Six Sigma principles/tools.

Basic Candidate Requirements:
•BS degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
•1-2 years of academic or industry experience in catalyst or material development is required.


Additional Candidate Qualifications:

•Excellent oral and written communications skills for working effectively with team members.
•Ability to work in a collaborative team environment for major objectives or expected results.
•Ability to travel up to 10% annually to both domestic and international locations
