We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our Bolingbrook, IL facility.



Responsibilities Include:



  • Department supervisor to monitor, assist with and improve all aspects of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

The incumbent will:



  • Ensure safety throughout the department.

  • Eliminate, prevent and/or provide countermeasures for all quality issues.

  • Ensure daily output goals are met (OTTR, OTTP, Revenue, Past Due, and Supplier Returns)

  • Initiate improvement actions to reduce department spending.

  • Be responsible for all departmental metrics.

  • Responsible for defining Goals at Cell level.

  • Coach/encourage Team Leads and operators to get excited about work and use reinforcing feedback methods in order to encourage good work habits.

  • Regularly support need for HOS in place and impress upon the team a sense of urgency to reach the team goals and to get things done.

  • Manage overall performance (adherence to standard work, attendance, safety, etc.) within the department.


The Supervisor is expected to:



  • The Supervisor is expected to have thorough knowledge of departmental operations and demonstrate process proficiency. The supervisor will be expected to provide process upport or back up any time a Team Lead is absent from the production floor.

  • The Supervisor will meet with his/her cross shift counterparts on a daily basis at the start and the end of the shift. The Supervisor will assist the Team Lead with coordination of daily work assignments.

  • Communicate with all Team Leads on a daily basis.

  • Communicate daily with other shifts and peers regarding quality, workload capacity, safety, staffing problems, and CI issues.

  • Lead solution of production problems as they occur.

  • Be the first contact for Team Lead when problems and concerns surface.

  • The supervisor is expected to lead/coordinate Quality Control activities, initiate and implement work standards, specifications and characteristics of department processes to insure that quality is inherent in each production process.

  • The supervisor is expected to encourage the use of Six Sigma Tools and HOS methods to effectively solve production problems.

  • The Supervisor will provide new employee orientation and new employee introductions to the Team Leads.

  • The Supervisor will constantly search for improvement and continually seek to eliminate waste.

Hours of Operation: 6:00am- 3:00pm. Ability to work overtime and Saturday’s as needed.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field or current enrollment in undergraduate program in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field.

  • 3 years of supervisory experience.

  • 1 year of customer communication experience.

  • 1 year of international logistics experience.

  • 3 years MS Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).

Additional Qualifications:



  • 2 years experience in managing departmental projects.

  • Working knowledge of US custom compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
