Engineering Lean Expert-Product Engineer Job Details

Position Responsibilities:

Based in our Torrance, CA office as Engineering Lean Expert you will lead global strategic projects that apply across worldwide HTT and HTS engineering teams.

Lead teams through the process of identifying and eliminating waste in order to accelerate Honeywell Turbo Technologies product developments.

• Apply lean tools to identify waste in the turbocharger product development process, and facilitate product and component development teams in understanding and transforming their processes


• Work to develop the Engineering Knowledge Management process.


• Guide cross-functional teams representing these functions through the process of baselining current processes.


• Implement significant process improvements with controls to ensure that these improvements are sustained.


• Establish and maintain a connection with peer Regional Lean Experts, sharing best practices and combining efforts to enact sustainable and measurable changes

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering


• 5 years experience in New Product Development/introduction and design, preferably in the field of Turbomachinery

Additional Qualifications:

• MBA is preferred but not required


• Demonstrated change management experience, and proven ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve measurable results


• Lean expert training and certification or equivalent experience


• Strong written and oral communication skills
