This Intern opportunity will be based, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A challenging opportunity exists to support ASIC/FPGA design of ground, airborne and space electronics. The successful candidate will be a member of the Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Hardware Center of Excellence and be specifically assigned to the ASIC/FPGA Center of Excellence.



This position will work as part of a team in designing and developing ASICs and FPGAs. Work assignments will be determined by the team lead and maybe be completed with some guidance if necessary. The candidate must also provide timely and concise project reports to keep the team leader accurately apprised of the status of their assigned tasks. Typical tasks include generating BFMs (Bus Functional Models), test benches, static timing analysis, assist in generation and review of requirements documents, traceability matrices and participating in code reviews.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret FPGA requirements specifications and develop verification procedures to validate the requirements.

• Interpret component datasheets and create VHDL/Verilog behavior models.

• Validate component behavioral models.

• Support testing hardware testing.

• Develop FPGA synthesis and place and route procedures

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently an undergraduate, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, in Electrical or Computer engineering, at an accredited college or university.

• Must have completed coursework, in semiconductors, logic design, and logic simulation.

• Must have completed junior college level, in an engineering program.

• Due to ITAR requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.



Additional Qualifications:

• Minimum GPA 3.0.

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and speaking.

• Experience with Microsoft office suite a plus.

• Experience with VHDL or Verilog a plus.

• Ability to develop and simulate VHDL/Verilog models

• Experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems.

• Ability to support hardware testing in a development lab.

• Ability to work with teams of engineers.

• Interpersonal skills: Relates well to all levels and kinds of people. Able to build appropriate rapport; listens well.

• Self-starter; Results driven; anticipates/initiates and implements solutions; proactive.

• Action Oriented: Full of energy for the things that need to be accomplished; bias for action; decision-maker, team player.
