Promise - Service Model Transformation Initiative Promise is the most significant transformation Avon has commissioned in over 50 years and is a key component of the Chairman's Growth Agenda. Promise is chartered with delivering a seamless service experience for how Representatives do business with customers and Avon. To address Avon's current and future business needs, the integrated service model will encapsulate a combination of innovative ideas from within the organization, industry and Avon leading practices, and lessons learned. Critical business processes and enabling technologies are being reengineered to transform the order to delivery experience and Representative care. The initiative was launched in May 2010 when a core team was formed in White Plains NY to lead the effort. The team is comprised of selected associates from global business functions as well as key markets including Brazil, Mexico, Russia, US, and UK. Since May 2010, the team has led the development of the vision for the Representative experience of the future. Using this vision as a foundation, the team defined the Global Core Service Model capabilities, processes, and system requirements and received Executive sign off on our business process design in May of 2011. Avon will be leveraging ECC 6.0 and CRM 7.0 including the Customer Interaction Center. ECC will be the cornerstone of the order to cash process for Avon's new Global Core Service Model, along with Vistex for Pricing and Promotions. We will be piloting our solution in Canada in late 2012 prior to rolling out to our top 5 markets Brazil, US, Mexico, UK and Russia over the next 4 years.
Avon Products Inc. is looking for a top-notched WebSphere Commerce Architect. He/she will be a key member of the eCommerce IT team and responsible for designing and developing WebSphere Commerce applications for Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) sites. Responsibilities include design and development of one or more subsystems in WCS, namely - catalog, trading, member, order management etc. Candidate is expected to participate in gathering requirements, documenting and designing WCS functionality and the related enhancements within the application. This includes support for application integration testing, integration development, data conversion and cutover activities. • Leading the design, development, installation, configuration, customization and administration of WebSphere Commerce Application Server and its components. • Developing component-based, service-oriented Web application framework using J2EE and WebSphere Commerce platform and work with business analysts and architects to ensure functional requirements are met. • Implementing and configuring key subsystems of WebSphere Commerce Enterprise or WebSphere Commerce Professional for Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) eCommerce sites from requirements analysis through deployment • Implementing the Extended Sites model and the different store models within the framework • Configuring and customizing subsystems such as Catalog management, Trading, Order Management, Member management subsystem. • Developing front-end components, use of WCS tag libraries, and comfortable developing WCS EJB, access and databeans • Working with cross functional and distributed teams to perform QA activities • Coordinate with the Infrastructure & Development Teams for all the necessary administrative tasks pertaining to the eCommerce platforms and applications. Examples include (1) Publishing a sample starter store, configuring it, and verifying that it is working (2) Using administrative tools and writing scripts to extend the tools if necessary (3) Enabling and configuring payments framework (4) Configuring WebSphere Commerce messaging transports and site security (5) Loading data into WebSphere Commerce databases • Should have 8 to 10 years of total experience with at least 5 years in WebSphere Commerce architecture and development. • Strong skills in WsbSphere Application Server and WebSphere Commerce administration and development required • Strong knowledge of n-tiered web application and architecture required • Strong WebSphere Application Server & Commerce troubleshooting and problem solving skills required • Experience in WebSphere Commerce and major subsystems: (Subsystems: Member, Order, Catalog) • Expertise in MVC framework, WC Command framework and key architecturap patterns • Advanced Programming Skills in Java, Javascript, JSP, taglibs, CSS, EJB, Struts • Experience in WebSphere Commerce Authentication • Experience in WebSphere Configuration • Strong knowledge in Databases (DB2, Oracle) required. *LI-HR
