Position Description:


This position reports to HSE&F Director and will matrix report to Program Manager for the GSMO contract. This position will support the GSMO, CCP and MS&I contracts. Specific responsibilities will include:


Responsible for the recognition, evaluation and control of workplace environmental factors that may cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among employees throughout the GSMO, CCP and MS&I contracts.
Directs the coordination of all health and safety related activities, including monitoring of workplace environments throughout the contract.
Develops processes, standards, policies and procedures as necessary to promote the well-being of employees and prevent hazardous and/or unsafe work conditions. Oversees the implementation of HSE standards.
Educates employees on HS&E issues and/or oversees the education/communication efforts at multiple field sites.
Develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives. Aligns HS&E activities with business processes.
Directs and/or oversees audit activities; provides written reports of findings; takes necessary corrective measures; follows-up on implementation.
Develops and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies and customer groups. Ensures HSE compliance with customer, government regulations and industry standards.
Serves as the Contracts representative at governmental and/or association meetings as required.
Serves as Contracts consultant on all health and safety related issues, providing technical guidance and expertise.
Serves as a technical resource and direct liaison for all contract field locations.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Scope:


This position is guided by contract and HTSI goals and objectives. Provides technical direction/guidance to contract personnel. Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts in areas of specialization.
Assists with the implementation of company initiatives. Resolves unique problems that are complex in nature and may extend across multiple disciplines or functions. Limited guidance is available. Frequent customer interaction and influence. Interacts with senior management and various external representatives (i.e. regulatory, trade professionals, customers).


BA/BS degree and 5 years of directly related experience in one or more of the disciplines listed above. In lieu of formal education, 16 years of progressive, directly related work experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.



Additional Qualifications:



HSE certifications such as Laser Safety and ASP/CSP highly desirable.


Strong project leadership/management skills to manage resources, budgets, schedules and make technical decisions.


Ability to counsel, coach, develop and motivate staff of professionals.


Requires process development and evaluation skills.


Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and foster cooperation with health & safety representatives at the various contract sites.


Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills.


Ability to work with various levels of personnel.


Strong problem-solving skills and customer relations.
