Job Description: 

We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control Operator at our Tonawanda, New York plant!!



Honeywell Specialty Materials is a global leader in providing customers with high-performance specialty materials, including fluorine products; specialty films and additives; advanced fibers and composites; intermediates; specialty chemicals; electronic materials and chemicals; and technologies and materials for petroleum refining.


With research and development facilities around the world, including labs in , New York, California and Shanghai, Honeywell Specialty Materials is on the cutting edge in several sectors of the chemical and high-performance materials industry.



Key Direct Accountabilities:







  • Accurately measure incoming tubing for adherence to specifications (ID, OD, wall thickness, appearance)


  • Accurately measure in process and completed tubing for adherence to specifications (ID, OD, wall thickness, appearance, and coating thickness)


  • Use of 10 ton overhead cranes and motorized industrial vehicles to stage materials for inspection.


  • Prepare Quality Inspection reports for internal and external distribution.


  • Perform quality performance tests using computer controlled equipment.


  • Understand sampling plans and ensure adherence to requirements.


  • Use band saw, industrial saw, mechanical deburring equipment and machine shop lathe to prepare samples for testing


  • Ensure production operators are performing quality inspections as required.


  • Adhere to all Safety rules.


  • Must be able to follow pre-established procedures and supervisor instructions for all aspects of the job.


  • Must be able to work all shifts (3 shifts a day 7 days a week.)


  • Good basic computer and Math skills are required to enter data into a production tracking system and get communications through








Primary Indirect Accountabilities:






· Maintain area according to standards.




· Participate in Rapid Problem Solving activities.




· Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement of operations.





Basic Qualifications:







  • High school diploma or GED


  • 1 year of experience in a medium scale production line manufacturing environment, performing QC inspections.


  • Good basic computer and math skills are required to calculate and enter data into production tracking database.










Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1 year experience as an inspector using scales, micrometers ring gauges, plug gauges and calipers.

  • Experienced in Six Sigma and Lean Principles

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
