Sr Project Engineer

Sr Project Engineer is responsible for electronic controller development programs in all phases of integrated product development and support (IPDS) within the Electric Power and Controls Center of Excellence (EPC COE). This role will be leading, controlling and guiding project development teams through to completion, this includes both hardware and software project lead.
Responsibilities:- Lead small to middle sized multi-talented IPDS teams consisting of Systems, Circuit, Software, Reliability, and Mechanical and Manufacturing engineering disciplines within a matrix organization.
- Manage and control overall project and subcontractor performance implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve commitments.
- Preparation and execution of project plans, schedules, cost estimates, baseline change management, risk mitigation, technical design reviews, management reviews, customer coordination meetings, cost/schedule/status reporting, etc.
- Support design and technical proposal preparation process.
- Coordinate build and test of engineering hardware.
- Lead electronic controller product transition into production.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
- 8 years of Engineering experience
- 4 years experience as Project Engineering or Program Manager
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export restrictions
Additional Qualifications: - Demonstrated organizational skills with experience forming and leading teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in customer/management briefings and proposals/technical report generation
- MS Project, MS Office tool experience
- SAP experience desirable
- PMP certification desirable
- Ability to plan, control, and drive execution of a global engineering team
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, team oriented environment
- Ability to work directly with customers, both internal and external
- Ability to identify and manage risks
- Bias for action
