Our broad objectives center on the continual development and improvement of petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas production, energy and chemical production technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- As member of site leadership team, drive programs, processes, and systems that help the site achieve zero injuries, zero environmental incidents, and zero non-conformances.
- Lead integration of HSE with Honeywell Operating System to improve overall plant performance.
- Leverage broader HSE functional organization and technical expertise to minimize HSE risk.
- Maintain and continuously improve the site's regulatory compliance assurance process in partnership with functional safety and environmental teams.
- Drive critical HSE improvement programs and clearly and concisely communicate program progress and resource needs to functional, business and site Leadership.
- Actively support and participate in site's development of Annual Operating Plan and 5-year Strategic plan.
- Drive a positive safety culture, insisting on consistent implementation of and adherence to policies and procedures as well as strategies to increase employee involvement and engagement in safety excellence
- Ensure processes are in place to create and maintain HSE procedures as required by the Performance Materials & Technologies HSE Management System.
- Establish site HSE objectives & metrics (including proactive measures) in alignment with business targets.
- Successfully integrate HSE processes with operations and business segment enterprises to ensure compliance and sustainable HSE performance.
- Manage local agency relationships and participates in advocacy activities at the community, and local legislative, regulatory and trade association to minimize impacts on plant goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 5 years experience managing environmental and OSHA regulations, HSE management systems and compliance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree and HSE certifications is considered a plus.
- 10 years managing HSE programs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Experience in managing in a Union environment.
- Proven track record of providing operational / functional leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communicator: demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing.
- Able to interact with plant floor employees as well as business and operations leaders to establish credibility and influence direction.
- Ability to train others is critical.
- Intelligent risk taker: judgment and a strong ethical framework, allowing the individual to make correct decisions instinctively, balanced with an appreciation for the pressures which business people confront.
