Miller fall protection products meet all applicable OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements and standards.


You will be collaborating with marketing and end-users to identify opportunity and to implement process and product improvements that effectively address the needs of the customer. Your role includes developing concepts and designs for new, innovative and marketable products, creating and conceptualizing new product ideas in rough sketches, models or computer- generated illustrations. You will have very strong communication skills to facilitate group projects.


Your primary responsibilities are:


- Collaborate with marketing and end-users to develop breakthrough new products. Conducts extensive market research, including competitive product analysis, to identify opportunity and new product requirements. Designs and develops new products, product line extensions and product improvements focusing on performance and manufacturing process. Considers design elements that ensure high quality, are simple but effective and easy-to-assemble products.

- Translate customer requirements into products. Develops concept sketch drawings, models, and cost estimates. Builds engineering mock-ups and models to demonstrate new product concepts for management evaluation.

- Design and develop project schedules, initial sourcing, component sourcing, vendor sourcing, engineering layout drawings, working prototypes, production prototypes, product testing, quality assurance testing and project design reviews. Builds and tests prototypes to verify compliance with all agency and internal requirements. Coordinates team meetings and communication between team members. Ensures documentation of specifications, spec. sheets, detail drawings and assembly drawings and ISO Design Control forms. Conducts competitive ongoing product analysis and patent activities.

- Develop new concepts for packaging, packaging compositions and instruction sheets. Follow up with catalogue and brochure inputs.

- Team with various groups to support quality output.

- Partner with marketing personnel to provide communications on new product information.

Basic Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering


Preferred Qualifications:


- Strong project management skills.

- Ability to combine formal training and experience with industry specific requirements to research, conceptualize, prototype and develop fall-protection products and processes is required

- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification or training

- DFSS experience

- Working knowledge of OSHA and other related regulations. Working knowledge of ANSI, ISO and other related standards as they relate to the fall protection industry.

- A PE or EIT is a strong plus.

- Excellent Computer- Aided Design and drafting skills.
