Job Description: 
AT&T Wi-Fi Services is the largest Wi-Fi Internet provider in the country. We are a growing organization with many national customers in the retail, hospitality and sport arena industries.


This position reports to the Technical Director of IT and will be responsible for the administration and support of a wide range of technologies that comprise AT&T Wi-Fi Services (AWS) IT infrastructure including Linux, Backup/Recovery, Enterprise Storage, Virtualization, and many other proprietary third party systems. This position will be located at AWS’s Austin facility.


This position is responsible for directly supporting the following environments: Linux, Windows, NetApp, VMWare ESX, Commvault Backup/Recovery, and many other proprietary IT technologies. Responsibilities will include the implementation and maintenance of new and existing systems with a focus on performance, efficient resource usage, uptime, robustness and good tracking metrics. Some off-hours work will be required as well as participating in an on-call pager rotation for responding to after-hour emergencies. Work closely with other IT team members and users to understand the requirements and needs of the business and contribute to the overall stability and success of the company.


Works with moderate supervision side by side with the other system administrators and IT teams to provide support for all infrastructure systems, including system implementation and management, measuring performance and ticket requests, as well as propose and implement new system enhancements. Also work closely with IT and Engineering team members and users to understand the requirements and needs of the business, implement new solutions, and contribute to the overall stability and success of the company.


Qualifications


Successful candidate must meet the following requirements:


· Minimum 5 years of Linux and/or Windows system administration experience in an high availability environment.

· Technical understanding of a variety of IT systems, software applications, hardware configurations, appliances, peripherals, and computer networking architectures

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in the administration of enterprise storage, backup/recovery, or virtualization technologies

· Strong experience with Linux and Windows Server

· Strong hardware skills with X86 platforms

· 2-3 years of NetApp, VMWare ESX and Commvault administration experience or similar enterprise technologies

· Experience administrating SMTP

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software problems

· Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery practices

· Proven ability to successfully communicate to various levels of management

· Ability to set priorities, plan/organize, and carry out IT projects in an efficient manner

· Participate in on-call support and maintenance rotations

· Excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated commitment to producing high quality documentation

· Ability to work well with others across many organizations including development, sales, marketing, finance, customer support, and field service

· Strong time management skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet all schedules

· Professional demeanor and strong work ethic

· Strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn is a must

· Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service

· Bachelors degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience


Experience with any of the following is not required, but is a big plus:


· Perl and/or Linux shell scripting/programming skills

· Enterprise storage including RAID systems, SANs, and/or NAS

· Cisco routers, switches, and IOS


Required Qualifications -


  • 3-5 years experience

  • Knowledge of UNIX (Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Windows, Linux)

  • Understanding of Change Management Life Cycle Principles

  • System Support and Trouble Analysis skills (root cause analysis, alarm management platforms, troubleshooting, etc)



Desired Qualifications -


  • BS in Engineering, Computer Sciences or other technical field

  • Knowledge of call processing

  • Server & System Administration skills

  • Knowledge of Analysis Tools (Access 7, GeoProbe, GSTool, RCATS)

  • Hardware installation and repair skills

  • Knowledge of OSI network protocol design

  • Hardware/software skills necessary to support the telephony/voice infrastructure (Aspect, Avaya, Cisco, Nortel)

  • Knowledge of Configuration, Backup, and Restoral processes necessary to support the telephony/voice infrastructure

  • Experience using and writing technical documentation
