Satellite Antenna/Core Installation & Decommissioning Tech-Associate Engineer-2 Will perform the installations of core/antenna equipment, decommissioning-removal of antennas/core equipment, and work authorizations for unknown projects requiring installation personnel. Will be able to provide leadership with recommended solutions to problems. Will poses a working knowledge/understanding of electronics to include analog/digital theory and techniques. Ability to read and interpret schematics, system interconnects drawings utilizing Air Force Technical Orders and commercial off the shelf manuals. Familiar with Electro-Static Dissemination (ESD) procedures, familiar with information technology (IT) terms and processes-(MCSE), knowledge of TCP/IP, network topography, ability to configure routers & equipment IP addressing-(CCNA), ability to connectorize cables such as: CAT-5, BNC, RG-45, twinax, coax, and fiber. Knowledge/ability to fully integrate & fully populate equipment racks from scratch. Familiar with test equipment such as Analog/digital multi-meter, O-Scope, network analyzer, protocol analyzer, signal generators, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR). Knowledge and understanding of how to utilize hand tools, skill saws, drills, socket wrenches, pliers, civil engineering type tools and techniques-fork lift, cranes, booms, man-lifts, general carpentry type skills. Ability to work in confined spaces-under raised floors, climb on antennas, and work at heights up to 150 feet-must be able to obtain and be climbing certified by passing a climbing physical. Must possess and keep/maintain a current driving license. Work as a team and perform any other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or military technical training program, or completion of technical institute program and 2 years of related experience. Will poses a working knowledge/understanding of electronics to include analog/digital theory and techniques-RF knowledge preferred but not required. Knowledge of test equipment: O-scope, OTDR, signal generator, Network analyzer Ability to connectorize various cables-CAT V, Fiber, RF, twinax, BNC, RG-45 Use of hand tools: skill saw, worm saw, reciprocating saw, power tools Knowledge of routers and how they work, can program an IP address and use ping command Knowledge/ability to read and interpret schematics & technical Manuals work from drawings Must be able to work at heights Must maintain a current drivers license Must maintain a DOD secret clearance
