Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Enterprise Network Design Engineer II to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified Network Design Engineer will support the IT Services organization on the JRDC contract based at Schriever AFB, CO. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Joint National Integration Center Research and Development Contract (JRDC).
Roles and Responsibilities: • Duties include design and implementation of IT systems primarily consisting of Cisco networking infrastructure throughout a geographically diverse enterprise
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: • The successful candidate must be process oriented and have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills • Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a valid CCNA certification. Years of experience will be accepted in lieu of degree • Candidate must have 5 years of professional experience in design, evaluation, implementation and troubleshooting of the following technologies: Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, L3 and L2 protocol suites, local and long-haul data transmission mediums (RS- 530, T1, OC-x, etc.), Type I encryption devices and network timing systems • Must have working knowledge of end-to-end optical products and technologies to include SONET and DWDM • The candidate must have a Security certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire • A Security certification is not needed if the candidate has one or more of the following certifications: Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications : Experience assisting customers in planning, designing, and implementing with Cisco optical and high speed data center networking products such as Cisco ONS 15454 SONET MSPP and Nexus is a plus.
