Performs complex functional and operational test of components, subsystems and system level. Troubleshoots and recommends circuit changes and established (when not specified) component requirements and circuit details, utilizing a thorough knowledge of electronic theory, and a broad practical knowledge of the functions, capacities and limitations of electronic equipment. Verifies the performance and characteristics of such systems. Determines method of testing for functional operations; selects and sets up all required test equipment; records and evaluates results of such tests as required. Selects, sets up and operates specialized computer controlled test equipment to functionally test, evaluate and verify special tests that may be required. Sets up and performs functional check of purchased or customer-furnished electronic systems, to determine whether system will integrate with other electronic and electromechanical systems. Expected to perform acceptance test tasks. Performs work necessary to fabricate, troubleshoot and isolate malfunctions. Works from sketches, drawings, wiring diagrams, manufacturers specs, or other written and oral technical data. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: This job requires two (2) years of college or trade school with a minimum of 30 units of electronics or equivalent experience.Normally eight (8) years of electronic experience or equivalent related practical experience commensurate with the above level job standards. Knowledge of electronics theory, practice and procedure as applicable to the work described above.
