The Intern will: • Solve problems in electro-mechanics, mechanics, and electronic design
• Perform special studies and tests
• Follow Systems Engineering disciplines and processes
• Derive technical data through testing and analysis
• Coordinate and develop engineering solutions
• Participate in technical reviews and review boards
• Assist in researching and determining system requirements
• Assist in the development of source data for drawings and Technical Orders
• Additional responsibilities may include: system modeling, weapon system hardness studies, review of technical and management data, performance assessment, problem identification, corrective action planning and implementation, corrosion analysis, materials analysis, test requirements development, and testing support
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: • Be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program in one of the following engineering curricula: Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Chemical, Materials, or other similar engineering or scientific major
• Must have completed at least sophomore year of college/university
• Must have excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills
• Must have experience in Microsoft Office - experience with SharePoint is a plus
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 10 weeks during the summer 2012 semester
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite; a current clearance is helpful, but not required)
Preferred Qualifications: • GPA 3.2 or above is preferred.
