Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Storage Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified Storage Systems Administrator will specialize in the operations of a large enterprise storage environment in support of the Missile Defense Agency on the Northrop Grumman's Joint National Integration Center Research and Development Contract (JRDC) program at Schriever AFB, CO.
Roles and Responsibilities: • Primary duties include ensuring a daily run through of battle-rhythm checks on the storage environment, viewing and responding (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management tools, conducting and attending various meetings (project, team, change, configuration, etc.), participating in forward thinking activities, and a automating as much as feasible • Daily reviews of systems to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly as well as execution of daily/weekly system health checks • System audit log reviews as required • The Storage Systems Administrator will be required to coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure • Primary duty hours fall between 0700 and 1700 with shift work required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities and staffing of the IT Operations Center. Other System Administrator duties may be required
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field and 8 years of experience. Years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree • Must have strong relevant skills in a large storage environment • Must have a strong storage administration background with an emphasis on security • Must have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills • Strong communication skills also required. Per DoD 8570, certified Security , or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications: • Previous work experience in a large, multi-Petabyte environment utilizing EMC systems (e.g., NS960, Clariion, and Celerra) and monitoring tools (e.g., EMC Ionix Control Center), Symantec NetBackup • Previous experience working in a Remedy ticketing system • Essential qualifications for a successful candidate include an ability to quickly adapt to new situations, a strong commitment to a team environment, a capacity to work with little supervision and the willingness to learn new technologies • Experience with Recover Point appliances a plus. Experience with Cisco SAN switches a plus
