An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Olefins Process Engineer within UOP's Research and Development organization located in Des Plaines, IL. This position affords a unique opportunity to work on the development and commercialization of new UOP olefins and detergent process technologies, as well as support the growth of this strategic product portfolio.



The candidate will work on olefins technologies, with the following functions:



  • Participation on multi-functional teams focused on new process and catalyst development in the field of petrochemicals.

  • Experimental design, coordination of experimental work, and data analysis.

  • Development and maintenance of process simulation tools in support of technology commercialization.

  • Participation in definition of commercial projects. This will involve interactions with the business group, engineering, and other development specialists.

  • Opportunities for technology presentations in customer meetings and conferences.

Basic Candidate Qualifications:



  • BS in Chemical Engineering and 5 years of experience in the field of Petrochemicals or Refining

Additional Candidate Qualifications:



  • MS or PhD Chemical Engineering preferred

  • Prior experience with petrochemicals and/or prior experience in Field Services are desired

  • Prior experience in the field of R&D is desired.
