This is an exciting time to join Honeywell's Americas Electronic Operations group! This is a great position to showcase your skills in a highly visible role.

We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing, and distributing advanced electronic systems, products, and services to commercial, defense and space industries.


This position is responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of health, safety and environmental programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements (federal, state, local). Primary background and skills for this position should include both health/safety and environmental. This position reports directly to the Rocky Mount HSE&F Site Leader and is an integral part of the HSE Team. The position is located in Rocky Mount, NC, there is no relocation offered.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and keep current the HSE programw documentation such as safe work permits, Job Safety Analysis (JSA's)/Standard Operating Sheets (Sass), Management of Change (MOC) requests, Incident/Accident Investigation.

  • Provide training to site personnel on a variety of HSEw compliance and best practice programs.

  • Support the Self Assessment Toolw (SAT) audit process and site wide risk assessments with strong shop floor interaction and documentation.

  • Lead root cause analysis (5-Why) duringw incident investigations.

  • Interpret, communicate and ensure compliance withw HSE regulatory requirements (OSHA/EPA/DOT).

  • Provide operational andw regulatory support for Environmental Programs including; pollution prevention, RCRA compliance, air quality management, wastewater management, storm water management, APP, EPCRA, SARA Title III.

  • Provide operational and regulatoryw support for Health and Safety Programs including; lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work permits, forklift and elevated surfaces work, hoists and cranes, robotic systems, electrical safety, ergonomics, HAZCOM and MSDS’s, safety observations.

  • Provide support for environmental programs and initiativesw including recycling and energy efficiency.

  • Conduct HSE field assessments,w inspections, evaluations and audits.

  • Support Contractor Safety program atw the site

  • Support HOS-HSE Integration and maturity at the site.

  • Support efforts to continuously improve HSE&F performance and facilities operation.

  • Support/lead improvement initiatives across the site (ergonomics, industrial hygiene, engineering controls, PPE, waste management).
Basic Qualifications:


  • For Export Compliance, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in health, safety, environmental, industrial hygiene or related discipline.

  • 3 years directly related experience in Health, Safety and Environmental practice in a manufacturing environment.

  • Posses detailed knowledge of HS&E policies, procedures and programs as they relate to administration, health, safety and environmental efforts.

Additional Qualifications:


  • Experience with Carolina Star/VPP and auditing systems (both internal and external).

  • Green belt or higher certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean tools (Kaizens, Rapid Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, etc.).

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.

  • Must be motivated to take ownership of issues and seek team participation.
