We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager in Lincolnshire, IL, for Honeywell Life Safety (HLS) -1 of 7 strategic business units at Honeywell ACS. The Product Manager, Software and Innovation will be responsible for the life cycle management of the gas detectors, software, wireless technology, controllers and accessories for the Portables Line of Business. This includes technical support for the product line, channel partner support, application expertise, and management of the new product introduction, management and obsolescence. Primary Job Duties: Provide technical marketing support for existing product line, as well as, the development of product enhancements and new product developments which affect existing product lines. Foster sales and service growth via training materials, technical bulletins, sales tools and other means, as necessary. This role will provide strategic guidance and expertise on technologies such as Wireless Networks, Enterprise-wide Software, Software as a Service (Saas), RFID, GPS, Cellular, and other technologies being used in process management/controls applications within Oil & Gas, Heavy Manufacturing, Petrochemical and other types of industry applications. Identify and champion customer requirements for new applications, technical issues, certifications and other requirements as needed by the business. Collect and utilize information into new product development plans which are strategically aligned with line of business plans. Be the market expert for industry trends, business drivers and competitive forces in the target markets (which include Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Utilities and Refrigeration). Utilize the market intelligence to direct new product development, marketing campaigns, industry lobbying and promote Honeywell Analytics as the market leader. Create Product Development Plans (PDP) for new products; capture Voice of the Customer (VOC) market data, support the development of business plans for strategic projects associated with new products, cost reductions and other growth initiatives.. Supervise the progress of allocated R & D projects with the Project Leader; provide market led input to the product design and timeline throughout all phases of the product development. Facilitate teamwork across multiple departments in order to meet the agreed timeline for new product introductions. Coordinate with the Marketing Communications department on the development of all product launch materials to affect a comprehensive sales support and communications campaign. Develop an annual communications plan with the Marketing Manager for all associated product lines. Routinely capture competitive and market data for the related products and segments in order to report on market opportunities and emerging standards and technologies for future exploitation. Develop training tools & campaigns for the sales team that focus on the product strengths in key applications that meet the end users' requirements. Review on a monthly basis unit and revenue based sales for all associated product lines. Assess and report achievable margin and pricing for all product lines on a quarterly basis. Define with the Marketing Manager pricing & rationalization strategies on an annual basis and execute & communicate progress effectively with the wider management team. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Marketing or a Technical Discipline 2 years experience as a Product Manager to include product development, portfolio management, NPI, strategic marketing and alliances in a technical environment. Additional Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of experience with wireless technologies, software, and SaaS Knowledge with product operations and product applications Good understanding of the theoretical aspects of the technologies People development is needed to successfully fulfill this role.
