System Sensor, the leader in the fire detection and prevention industry, has an exciting opening for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager in our St. Charles, Illinois Location.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Conduct market research to formulate ideas for new products and/or product line


extensions.

2. Utilize market studies and other appropriate Voice of the Customer (VOC) methods to define customer requirements, to understand competitor activity, to establish market potential, to comprehend general economic conditions and any other salient factors to develop comprehensive programs for product development.

3. Responsible for pricing decisions and gross margin performance for products in the managed product portfolio.

4. Ensure that product development efforts remain on schedule and that critical stages including design, PPR, QA, approval, agency approvals, pricing, promotional programs and production occur efficiently.

5. Generate a monthly forecast to determine impact on existing products in order to minimize obsolescence.

6. Define packaging and promotional programs to support product introduction and life cycle.

7. Develop sales and customer training programs and materials and support OEM customer communication events and programs.

8. Support sales efforts by facilitating communication efforts to customers and sales force.

9. Maintain marketing collateral materials as needed, including updates to existing materials and the creation of new materials.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 8 years experience in marketing, product management, or a related field.

2. Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3. Experience and a capability to make product development recommendations based upon customer feedback and input.


4. Proven track record of successful product management

5. Record of accomplishment as a significant contributor as part of a cross functional project team.

6. Demonstrated ability of strong analytical skills, with an ability to decide and take action by applying intuition, experience, and judgment to the data available.

7. Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially strong presentation skills.

8. Strong computer skills (especially with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word)
