We have an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Product Line Manager, Refining Catalysts in UOP's Catalysts Adsorbent & Specialties (CA&S) group, located in Des Plaines, Illinois. This is a new position that will focus on expanding UOP's portfolio of catalyst products for a wide variety of petroleum refinery and biofuel applications. The Senior Product Line Manager will be responsible for managing an assigned subset of UOP's broad refining catalyst product portfolio around the globe. UOP is a leading, global supplier of process technology, catalysts, adsorbents, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries. UOP is also a leader in R&D and is committed to the continuous improvement of the process and catalyst technologies used by these industries. Position Responsibilities: Manage the interface between the CA&S business group and the UOP Manufacturing organization. Work with Manufacturing to ensure that our catalyst products are available to meet customer needs. Lead periodic meetings with Manufacturing related to product specifications, quality, and productivity. Oversee the global supply chain for assigned market segments and determine the best sourcing strategy for each catalyst product. Establish and manage agreements with external catalyst and catalyst service suppliers. Understand product cost structures, identify opportunities to reduce costs, and initiate cost reduction programs. Lead a cross-functional Product Line Operating Team in the development and implementation of market plans. Analyze win-loss data and other competitive information, and use this information to set catalyst product pricing and manage profitability. Provide sales support for assigned products: including working with the sales teams to optimize strategy, product positioning and pricing for each sales event. Attend customer visits to support sales of UOP catalyst products. Support the global product planning process (sales forecast, production schedule, inventory management, etc.). Work with sales account managers to develop, implement, and maintain long-term customer supply agreements. Oversee all customer supply agreements from a global basis. Lead the commercialization of new catalyst products during the Development, Scale-Up and Market-Launch phases. Ensure that proper new product commercialization procedures are followed. Obtain Voice of the Customer input and generate business cases for new product development programs. Ensure that any Health, Safety, and Environmental issues associated with new or existing products are addressed. Prepare a 10-year forecast for the annual strategic plan which includes catalyst sales volumes, revenue, margin, and share of demand. Provide input for growth strategies. Support the annual budget planning process. Prepare and present papers on new UOP catalyst products at internal and external conferences. Provide input to the patent portfolio management process. Basic Candidate Requirements: · Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline. · 5 plus years experience in the refining and/or catalysts industry Additional Candidate Qualifications: · Experience in catalyst manufacturing. · Experience in business-to-business marketing. · Strong understanding of refining process technology, particularly hydroprocessing. · Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. · Experience with translating product features into customer benefits. · Prior experience with SAP systems is a plus. · Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus. · Strong oral and written communications skills. · Ability to travel up to 15% annually, both domestically and internationally We offer a team oriented environment along with exciting career opportunities and a highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
