Job Description:  Within assigned product line(s) or functional area of the plant, responsible for the direct supervision and leadership of all assigned Workflow Specialists and Operators to assure the delivery of a quality product at the targeted cost. Responsible for managing resources required to meet production requirements, including equipment, tooling, workspaces, operating system, and personnel. Understands, implements, and enforces compliance with Honeywell Policies and Procedures, Regulatory Standards, and Honeywell Code of Conduct.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Communication:

Provide objective feedback to the site designated communications leader to enable the continuous improvement of the site communications plan.

Assume primary ownership of the product line performance metrics.

Ensure the execution of the cell and department level communications plan.

Be the primary conduit of all HOS related information and education to the first line employees.



2. Follow strategy deployment process by execution of site goals.



3. For continuous improvement:

Coach and guide Workflow Specialist and operators

Create the expectation of the "better every day" i.e. foster a culture of continuous improvement

Evaluate and act on improvement suggestions provided by cells.

Participate in and act on issues found during Gemba activities.

Ensure visual workplace is standard and maintained.



4. Monitor 5S/Visual Workplace

Audit 5S process and visual work place.

Metrics - review and participate in communication meetings; respond to abnormal conditions

Andon - respond as required to abnormalities and escalate as required.

Problem visualization - provide input into key problems and potential countermeasures, review, follow up on countermeasure activities.

Material controls - audit condition, audit segregation procedures for non-conforming material.

Production Status Controls - review and manage expectation through the Workflow Specialists. Continuously drive bottleneck improvement. Create the need for "Sense of Urgency".



5. Understand the HSE hazards, risks, and controls of the operations under their control. Monitor and coach/teach awareness and compliance to HSE Controls. Develop an environment where compliance to HSE controls is a condition of employment and continuous improvement of HSE.



6. Create and facilitate improvement efforts for the following:

-Demonstrate operating system expertise on the factory floor; coach, mentor and performance manage operators.

-Process design for flow - responsible for providing a detailed standardize work analysis and to recommend features in the cell that promote use of standard work for flow and quality.

-Standard Work: Ultimately responsible to approve and maintain standardized work procedures. He/she is generally responsible for administering progressive discipline where appropriate but otherwise partners with the WFS on developing the operator's skills.

-Knowledge Sharing - Share knowledge of successful and failed improvements with other teams and provide key learning to Site HOS Leader.

-Solicit inputs from WFS and operators through normal communications, coaching, and CI activities

-Rapid problem solving - Supervisors should coach, mentor Workflow Specialists and audit process



7. Major Process Improvement Events (TPM, Set-up reductions, Scrap reductions, etc…):

Plan, coordinate and participate in training and events.

Support standardized work changes by auditing and requiring that operators follow the new standard set-up methods.

Learn how to facilitate "go and do" events.

Follow-up on action items from events Use a RAIL.

TPM-provide the time and support to operators to perform autonomous maintenance activities and attend all TPM team meetings. Also participate in RPS activities related to equipment issues and escalate RPS issues as required.



8. Participate in the development of Leadership Standardized Work

Basic Qualifications:

- A minimum of 5 years operations and leadership experience within a manufacturing environment required.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science, management, finance, business or technical discipline; an additional 3 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

- Due to Government Contracting must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident


- Must be able to work 11:30pm to 8:00am



Additional Qualifications:

- Self-motivated with ability to multi-task

- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects across functions (project management)

- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and ability to lead change

- Good analytical as well as financial management skills

- Ability to lead within a lean manufacturing environment
