Job Description:  Honeywell Aerospace is a $10B SBG (Strategic Business Group) with 40,000 employees in over 125 domestic and international locations. We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing and distributing advanced electronic systems, products and services to commercial, defense and space industries.

This critical leadership position is responsible for managing all operational aspects of assembly and test for the assembly, test, repair & overhaul of hydro-mechanical fuel controls for the following Value Streams within the Rocky Mount, NC facility: Pratt Whitney Canada, Rolls Royce, General Electric, Hamilton Sundstrand and Honeywell Engines.



Responsibilities include:

- The planning and execution of programs that require extensive coordination across the organization.

- Implementation and utilization of lean, Six Sigma, and Honeywell Operating System (HOS) principles within area of responsibility

- Manufacturing Cell design including floor layout, WIP, buffers, and capacity analysis.

- Daily execution of production cell ensuring daily output meets plan.

- Implementation of daily/weekly/monthly management operating system within the cell/area.

- Manufacturing efficiency/productivity through continuous improvement of output, resource flexibility, and quality, yields, scrap, rework, inventory, and cycle times.

- Develop and improve organization through utilization HPD tools and processes.

- Manage performance: coach, mentor and develop employees.

- Monitor production processes and metrics to ensure that quality, schedule and cost objectives are met. Operate within general division and corporate procedures and the department's budget, revenue, and profit plans

- Responsible for production schedule adherence, budget, asset, expense, and burden items. This position makes decisions on hiring, salary actions, promotions, capital expenditures, and expense allocations within approved divisional policy

- Direct production efforts to achieve customer satisfaction, acceptable profitability, product growth, and longevity.

- The incumbent must have specialized knowledge of customer requirements and strong leadership and motivational ability to inspire personnel to meet schedules. Identify training needs of team members and make available programs designed to enhance employee performance

- BA/BS in engineering, operations, or related discipline.

- Minimum 5 years experience in an operations/manufacturing environment

- Direct leadership experience required

Additional Qualifications Preferred:

- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification preferred.

- MBA preferred


- Must be self-motivated and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

- Successful implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles preferred.

- Leadership and integrity; manages by fact, achieves results, builds teams

- Bias for action, assertive, decisive

- Commitment to achieve key performance metrics and drive for continuous improvement

- Vision and purpose; creates and communicates compelling vision and direction, inspires, motivates

- Strong presence on production floor continuously driving improvement

- Cross-functional experience in operations is required; experience in at least one other functional area is desired

- Ability to motivate, encourage and develop others to achieve desired results

- Good interpersonal skills are required

- Good written and verbal communication skills are required

- Leadership ability, organizational skills, and good computer skills are required

- Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to build strong team and meet established objectives

- Foster teamwork at all levels of the organization
