We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Bolingbrook, IL facility.


Job Duties:


  • Make recommendations/improvements for maximum productivity, yields and product quality based on data collection utilizing Six Sigma tools.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes to identify problems and provide corrective action plans. Provide follow-up to action plans to determine if further corrective actions are needed
  • Review specifications to ensure product is produced at reasonable cost, premium quality and to customer request.
  • Partner with Research and Development team as needed to fulfill customer requests and new product development.
  • Develop and maintain current Standard Work Instructions
  • Develop and evaluate process concepts to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • Serve as project lead on manufacturing problem solving projects / process improvement projects, new product and equipment qualification projects.
  • Assume a leading role in determining capacity, utilization, and capability information.
  • Manage special capital projects (e.g. waste minimization, product consistency, plant reliability, debottlenecking, profit improvement/cost reduction, and process optimization
  • Determines manufacturing processes and review equipment capability to meet lead time and quality requirements by developing and analyzing capability studies, control charts, and other statistical data. Determines which product and process characteristics require capability studies.
  • Establish new guidelines, best practices, and routines based on engineering standards and Lean methods to assure operational capabilities, quality, safety, lead time reductions and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform time studies for optimized cycle times and standard work.
  • Work closely with other departments whose services are necessary to conclude assignments.
  • Keeps abreast of performance of existing equipment in order to recognize and correct deterioration and/or failure.
  • Assist to solve problems affecting manufacturing and projects.
  • Assist in the establishment of machine production performance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Plan, organize and perform duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work well with team members to implement process improvements.
  • Supports safe work place/identify and report unsafe conditions, follow safety rules, work successfully in a team environment.
  • Dependable with an excellent attendance record, support HOS and 5s and maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to closely monitor processes and implement solutions to make improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills a must.
  • Able to demonstrate sense of urgency.
Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

  • 2 years experience in using DMAIC, 5-Why, and Rapid Problem Solving.


Additional Qualifications:


  • Six Sigma Green Belt

  • Experience with Lean concepts.

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word. PowerPoint).

  • Previous Project Management experience.

  • Perform quality work without close supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize based on Business needs.
