This is an exciting time to join Honeywell Aerospace and this is a great opportunity to showcase your Engineering skills in a highly visible role in Greer, SC. This position is available within the Integrated Supply Chain, Greer OEM Manufacturing Facility. Honeywell Greer is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of new hot section turbine-engine components which maintains the highest number of Special Processes within any one Aerospace site. It is fast growing and recognized as the value proposition for this site and its future operations.



We are currently looking for an experienced Heat Treat Engineer with background processing high volumes and large variety of turbine components. This position is recognized on site as the technical lead in this area of expertise and is recognized within Honeywell Aerospace as the key special process contact at the site.



Part of the Aerospace Engines Product Center, the sites capabilities include:



  • Ultra-precision machining capability

  • Diffusion Coating - Aluminide, Platinum Aluminide Capable

  • Plasma Spray, Phosphate Coatings, Painting

  • Chemical Cleaning

  • Acid Stripping

  • Bond Coating to support Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition (EBPVD)

  • Heat Treatment (D979 qualified source)

  • Metallurgical lab with Scanning Electron Microscope

  • Shot peen (airfoils)

  • Brazing/Welding

  • Robotic Air Plasma Spray




The Product Manufacturing Engineer will ensure technical compliance with HS&E, OSHA regulations and requirements. He/she will work with on-site HSE personnel to ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment is identified and in use in applicable areas. The Product Manufacturing Engineer will assist in coordinating activities between Product Engineering, Operations AME, and Quality and Manufacturing teams. Additional responsibilities will include:



  • Assist in Planning and implementation of process development for New Product Introduction

  • Provide equipment and maintenance support offering solutions for upgrades in technology, automation or improving maintainability and machine uptime.

  • Participate in improvement activities targeting improved productivity, reduced cost, reduction in inventory, improved First Pass Yield, improved Cost of Poor Quality, improved cycle time and turn time.

  • Participate as required to develop special process capacity models, analyze gaps and recommend equipment, layout or manning solutions. Acquire necessary funds appropriations, implement project management and installation.

  • Work within the Honeywell Quality systems and procedures and with cross functional support organizations to ensure compliance to Honeywell SP-001.

  • Conduct audits in accordance with Nadcap Audit Checklists and coordinate correction and closure of all findings in a timely manner.

  • Acquire certification as a Honeywell Source Certifying Agent in one or more disciplines.

  • Generate and maintain technical flowdown documentation and work instruction ensuring compliance to all applicable blueprints, specifications, Nadcap and other requirements.

  • Generate and maintain technical training and testing material required of shop floor operators. Conduct any required technical training, testing and certification.


This position is located in Greer, South Carolina; relocation assistance is available.




Basic Qualifications:



  • Requires Bachelors degree in related Engineering discipline plus 5 years experience in Heat Treating and Welding or Brazing; in lieu of this combination Ten (10) years experience in Heat Treating and Welding or Brazing may be substituted .

  • Due to ITAR Requirements, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.


Additional Qualifications:



  • Experience in providing technical oversight and responsibility for processes and systems that are compliant with applicable AMS2750 and Nadcap requirements.

  • Demonstrated "Hands On" experience in the Heat Treating of metal components.

  • Proficient in project management skills with the ability to close initiatives on time and within budget.

  • Results focused with successful record of accomplishments through skilled use of influence and problem resolution.

  • Self motivated, process driven.

  • Able to deal tactfully and confidently with internal, external customers and suppliers at all organizational levels.

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments.

  • Excellent computer skills including Minitab, EXCEL, MS Project and a working knowledge of CAD.

  • Preferred: Certified ISO Auditor or Nadcap Audit experience - Experience with acquiring Heat Treating/Brazing systems in support of delivering best practices.

  • Preferred: Program Management Institute Professional Project Manager Certification or ASQ CQE.

  • Preferred: Blackbelt and Lean certification. Demonstrated ability in using six sigma tools.
