This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervises skilled technicians who are involved in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic and data/communications equipment and systems, in support of maintenance operations on the P&MCLS program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the activities of the department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Assist in review of expenditures and determine requirements. Makes recommendations to management to improve overall efficiency.
Investigates major problems encountered in equipment performance and/or customer requirements.
Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
Assists in the formulation of administrative and operations policies and procedures and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
Provides technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where written guidelines are not available.
Plans and manages human resource activities within assigned area of responsibility and within an organized labor union environment. Interviews employees and supervises direct reports. Establishes performance objectives/goals and monitors employee progress against goals. Determines promotions, transfers, or other related personnel transactions.
Maintains P&MCLS ISO policies and procedures and ensures on-going compliance with such.
Performs other duties as assigned.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education and directly related work experience may be considered.
- Eight years of directly related work experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
- U.S. Citizen.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of Basic Electronics Course, Radio Technician Course, Technician Theory Course, Advanced Communication/Electronic Course, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of electronic circuitry and theory and general mechanical skills and knowledge.
- Ability to apply knowledge of wire color codes, symbols, layout sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
