We are hiring a Demand Planner for our Dayton, OH facility.



Job Duties:




  • As a member of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team, the Demand Planner works closely with Sales and Marketing to generate an unconstrained consensus sales forecast.
  • Works closely with Operations to determine appropriate inventory planning strategies and production plans.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure that the sales forecast and production plans developed through the SIOP process achieve the desired financial results.
  • Proactively analyzes and recommends finished goods forecasts, inventory policies, and safety stock strategies based on market demands and business goals.
  • Develop, analyze, and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual unit and value forecasts.
  • Identify and analyze sales trends and influencing variables and incorporate analysis in forecasting, inventory planning, and safety stock processes.
  • Partner with factory leaders, sourcing, finance and other planners to identify and reconcile gaps and supply shortages, providing an early warning system for issues identification.
  • Gather commercial input by exception from the sales, marketing and technical functions and incorporate into the sales forecast the statistical forecast and review.
  • Attend the monthly demand review meeting and present the statistical forecast and discuss outstanding exceptions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for assigned processes and systems.
  • Good working knowledge of core processes in sales & marketing, demand management, production planning, materials management, inventory management and logistics.
  • Foster group decisions through a process of listening and guidance.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
Basic Qualifications:



  • 1 year of experience with demand planning, data analyst, or forecasting role.
  • 1 year of experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
  • 1 year of experience with the understanding of Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning role.
  • 2 year degree.


Additional Qualifications:




  • Analytical Skills are a plus.
  • Able to interpret data to create information.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of forecasting models and statistics is a plus.
  • Mathematical and basic statistical knowledge is preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Basic report design and formatting skills are a plus.
  • Business knowledge is a plus.
  • Understands the industry, its market dynamics, competitors and products.
  • Ability to play a neutral or objective role in the consensus process.
  • Ability to bring accountability and feedback in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Ability to recognize how key events affect product demand is a plus.
  • Ability to understand product history and trends.
  • Familiarity with Demand Planning applications: Statistical forecasting, business process Knowledge, the entire SIOP process, and sales cycle - especially Demand Planning's place in the SIOP cycle.
  • Interpersonal Skills are a plus.
  • Communication - Superior oral and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently and to understand decision-making structures.
