The Torrance, CA facility is a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing and distributing aircraft environmental control systems to commercial and defense industries. This is an exciting time to be part of a growing team. We are currently seeking Advanced Welders for first & second shifts to join our Torrance organization. This position will perform welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys. Key Responsibilities: • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. • At the professional level, follows procedures and processes using various equipment in order to complete tasks. • May train and mentor less experienced welders. • Recommend changes to processes and procedures, which will improve quality and productivity. • Exercise care and safe work practices. • Works in production, manufacturing or fabrication area where exposure to machinery is common. • Responsibilities may involve physical strain (e.g. heavy lifting) HOS Activities: • Support HOS activities including RPS, 5S, Waste Identification, Kaizen, etc. • Participates in the continuous improvement process, maintains 5s for their work area. • Obtain cross training in multiple areas to support site needs and goals Basic Qualifications: • For Export Compliance, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident • High School Diploma or GED required • 5 years tig welding experience required • 1 years experience in certifying aluminum, inconel, stainless steel and titanium metals. • Must pass Welder certification test and vision test Additional Qualifications: • Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as needed to help department meet demands • Willingness to cross-train on other processes deemed necessary by leadership. • Ability able to work comfortably in a team environment. • Good communication, written, and listening skills. • Dedicated to customer satisfaction and capable of producing quality at low cost and on time. • Ability to demonstrate skills in problem solving and team building. • Ability to solve problems that are broad in scope and complexity is required. • Ability to comply with department safety and housekeeping procedures (5s).
